SHOW GARDENS

A statue of St. Francis (above) overlooks a garden designed by Moon Landscaping at the Ridge House, site of the 2008 Junior League of Greater Princeton’s Designer Showhouse & Gardens. Designed by Robert W. Thomas and Lily Krauss, the area features an old stone walkway and moss-covered walls topped by violas in shades of white and violet.

White geraniums, white trailing lobelia, variegated ivy, and sweet woodruff fill cast iron urns. Beyond the statue lies an area designed by Ronni Hock of Ronni Hock Garden & Landscape. She created a serene, hidden retreat that is entered through a bluestone path bordered by an allee of amelanchier and underplanted with heuchera, lobelia and alyssum. At the end of the path lies a Buddha statue surrounded by white alyssum. To the left lies a hidden retreat (top photo) whose center is an imposing stone rug in a flower motif. Surrounding the tranquil space are urns filled with white orchids; pottery containers of fig trees underplanted with philodendron, kalanchoe, and coleus; a free flowing tropical garden of ferns, palms, peace lilies, croten, bromeliad, and variegated ginger.
